ORMOND BEACH, FL – Artist Flavio Galvan’s “Interstellar Collection” opens Saturday, July 6th from 3 – 7 pm during Ormond’s Art Walk, with the artist present to personally share with guests from 4 – 7pm.
Flavio Galvan, formerly from Argentina where he received both a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Graphics Arts, emigrated to the United States, became a US citizen and settled in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. For over thirty years he has fearlessly explored and mastered his unique approach to contemporary painting. His artwork is now known by collectors far and wide, throughout Florida and west to Los Angeles Tokyo and Dubai.
The Artist Statement about the Interstellar Collection says volumes about his art. “The work is an exploration of new techniques, materials, methods and unexpected outcomes. As a mid-career artist of more than thirty years, it’s gratifying to experiment and allow time-tested techniques to push the boundaries. This series includes work with varnish, oil, ink, resin, acrylic, and fire. Each image has between 20 and 30 layers of materials. They have a sort of internal depth and are luminously captivating.”
